The
unit was raised as a Helicopter Flight on 10 Mar 1954 at Palam with the
Sikorsky (S-55).
Nick Name : Fire Birds.
Motto : Aapatsu Mitram.
On 08 Nov 1988 the Helicopter
Unit was honoured when the President, R Venkatraman the 104 Helicopter
Unit with the President's Colours at an impressive ceremony held at Air Force
Station, Chandigarh.
